As promised-pics of my niece, Ruby. She is now 8 weeks old and weighs 8.10. There are pictures of us at the lake and pictures of us at my parents house. I have taken so many; I’ll just show you the best and the funniest. She is an ANGEL child. She hardly ever cries and is already sleeping 9 hours straight at night!! I am hoping Claire (i think we are finally decided on that first name and bailey will probably be her middle name) will be just like her! And finally here are the pictures:
I caught her in a half smile...
i did a lot of this this week!!
and she did a lot of this this week!!
she even slept on daniel. which made him way excited to have another little baby around!

I will be putting a couple of new posts up soon. Haircut-hilarious. And birthday party!! Thanks for keeping up with our little lives! Love you all!
That’s right folks, we’re having a girl! I was so shocked I had to come home and lay down. I was so sure I was going to have another boy. We also found out that I am not as far a long as we originally thought. It looks like I am only between 16 and 17 weeks. I go back to the doctor on the 15th and he will give me an updated due date.
I guess it makes the name game a little easier. We have it down to two names: Lucy and Claire. Or it could totally be something different. 🙂
I will be putting pics of Ruby and of Josiah’s birthday party next week!!
Josiah is going to be One next Saturday (26th)!! I know everyone always says this, but I can’t believeit! A whole year! Thank you, Jesus! Josiah is such a wonderful gift! He is ALMOST walking. I’m hoping we can surprise everybody at his birthday party with that manly saunter we’re all waiting for. 🙂 Who knows. He is officially brushing his four teeth now. I even bought baby tooth-paste. We had been “kinda” doing it, but now, we aren’t going to miss a brushing at all. He likes it, especially when he gets to brush his teeth with daddy. I’ve just got to get Daniel to show him how to spit the toothpaste out instead of swallowing. Also, if anybody has any good advice or books on early potty training let me know. As soon as he can walk, we’re going to start trying. He already only goes number two in the potty. I just gotta work on number one.
I find out what I am having on Tuesday!! YAY! I will be 18.5 weeks, which is a touch early, I guess. But that’s what the Doctor ordered. Plus, Manda will be here and she will get to go with me. I’m super excited. So next blog will HOPEFULLY have the gender of the baby on it. Then you guys can help me brainstorm names! My friend Jamie has quite the list, but not sure I like any yet? (she gathers them from her work… at Parkland…)
So here is the newest pic I have of my Ruby Jane. Like I said, they are coming to visit this weekend and week, so I will have better and more to follow!! She is so beautiful!
big enough hat anyone?
This past weekend Josiah and I got to go to Abilene to visit my old college roommates! It was a blast. We picked up Jamie on the way down. Thankfully. It was a long drive for just me and Jo to do by ourselves, and Jamie was a huge life save. He liked her so much he flirted with her the rest of the weekend!! I wish I had a picture of said flirtation- every time he took a bite of lemon (which I know is not good for his teeth, but it made for a great distraction in a restauraunt close to nap time) he made a sour face and looked at Jamie. She would laugh at him, and just like all guys, he would do the face again sometimes even without the lemon!! So funny.
We had a great time catching up, playing with the Blay’s longhorns, wading in a creek, and eating delicious food! Thanks to Momma and Daddy Blay for being a WONDERFUL hostess and host! A few pics… (surprisingly, we only have one pic of all of us. what were we thinking?)
the one pic of all of us
Kaely wading with Josiah. She eventually took her shoes off and waded with him! She's going to be a great mom someday. He was too fascinated with the water to look up.
us and longhorn (no reflection on our school affiliation)
Josiah loved the cows, but Merritt didn't! She even said, "We pray! We pray!" It was hilariours!! And we did stop and pray!! She felt much better after that!
Jo didn't like his dinner. He was signing "finished", but I kept making him eat more...so he threw a little bit up to prove his point!! Guess I won't be buying parmeasean and pasta again.
but they BOTH enjoyed bath time!
In the car... this is pretty much how it was... Merritt talking or singing and Josiah watching and watching. He usually took a great nap after listening to Merritt! The difference between boys and girls is HUGE!!
one last pic of jo. playing in the dirt
My parents have started giving trips for Christmas presents, and we LOVE it! This was our first family vacation. It was on lake Ouachita in Arkansas, beautiful!! It is a national forest, so they won’t allow any building to be directly on the water. So, when you take your boat on the lake you feel like you’re in some prehistoric time, except that you are on a boat… Here are a few pics. I would have more, but every time we left the lodge and got somewhere Daniel would ask me if I brought the camera, and, no of course I didn’t. So here’s some of what we have.

Daniel and I recently had our 5 year anniversary! It really didn’t feel like we had been married that long until we had a kid, and now, it feels like 20 for some reason,20 in a good way. But still it’s funny how having a kid makes you grow up so much. I still felt like a college student until Josiah got here; now, I feel a full blown woman. Not sure Daniel feels the same way about himself. I think marriage did the growing up for him. He added a lot of responsibility to himself when he said, “I do”, and mine came when I had a baby, so I guess that’s what makes you feel old- responsibility.
SOOOO… I got off track. We had a wonderful time on our date. It was our first time to be away from Josiah for a full night together. I had been away before and Daniel had too, but not together. Daniel just finished getting his private pilot licence so he flew me to Tyler to eat at the same place we ate at the night we got engaged. It was a BLAST! He is an excellent pilot! So we ate at this gorgeous place with the BEST steak I have ever had. This steak was so good, I dreamed about it that night. Not kidding. I even asked if he would take me back for lunch. He reminded me how much it cost and I got over it pretty fast… Daniel wrote me this amazing letter and had had the most beautiful flowers delivered to the restaurant and put on our table. He’s so good! I am such a lucky girl! Then we went to a hotel in Tyler for the night. It was perfect. I had so much fun, I didn’t even call to check on my baby till we were on our way home!! Yay for me!! Here are a few pictures of the flight and one at the restaurant. enjoy.

Well, we have joined the blogging world! I really don’t think I’m cool enough to have a blog, but it’s free! So, I will give it a try. If you want to see cool blogs, check out my links! Seriously, guys, you’re cool!
Baby news: I am in my second trimester!! Thank you, Jesus! I am 15 weeks right now. And truly, we are in a name quandary. We can’t decide on a name at all if it is a boy and we’re only 90% sure for a girl name. So we are open to suggestions. I took an Intelligender test and predicted boy. But we have heard mixed reviews about the validity of the test. I guess we will have to wait and find out for sure the old fashioned way- sonogram. hehe. In 5 weeks!
Here are some pics. Most of you will have seen these already. I’ll post some new ones later. My camera is in the other room. yes, yes, lazy…
